Normandy: Sacrifice for Freedom
The Albert H. Small Student/Teacher Institute
The Normandy: Sacrifice for Freedom: The Albert H. Small Student & Teacher Institute offered students a life changing experience. For two weeks 15 student & teacher teams dived into the history of D-Day and World War II entirely. Learning about World War II in 9th grade U.S. History was very brief. When the opportunity came along to experience World War II like never before, I was intrigued. The most amazing part of the institute is the fact that it is an ongoing process. Beforehand I read several books to enhance my knowledge of the topic. Then, following the program I was honored that I could create such a website & presentations to share my story. The Normandy program is a journey like no other. I have made everlasting friendships, experienced places one could only imagine, and made a significant difference in history. It is a memory I will cherish forever and it is a never ending journey.
